About me

Between head bopping performances to laughter infused writing session, drummer-singer Lilou Chance finds harmony in the buzz of musical creation. The 23 years old French artist maintains that groove and vibes are the most important parts of her musical approach. After 15 years of musical experience in Paris, Lilou Chance expanded her scene to the US and attended Berklee College of Music. There, she found her voice as a positively warm songwriter and versatile producer.

After getting endorsed by her favourite drums brands, Gretsch and Paiste, Lilou Chance had a busy year as a touring drummer for the « Phenix Circus ». While maintaining a high level as a student, she played 60 arenas shows all around France between 2021 and 2022. Performing overseas, the multi-instrumentalist played her music at the Massachusetts state house for the governor. Her latest adventure was playing at the Boston Calling festival in front of a crowd of 15000 people.

With her new song « Shots », Lilou expands her sonic universe to Rnb and electronic pop to provide a fresh combination of exciting new genres. With inspirations from artists like Jorja Smith and Tom Misch, she appeals to a new kind of “French touch” in the pop scene. The single was co-produced with French producer Saint Aunay and will be released in February 2025. Reflecting on the song, the artist says: “Shots is my way of saying I’m doing my best, I’m also making mistakes and that’s okay.”

Being a very dynamic toddler, she chose to express herself through drumset playing. After some years, she started singing while playing drums and added guitar to her instruments. Multi-instrumentalist at 12, she felt the need to perform and write her own songs. After studying jazz drumming at the Paris Conservatory, she entered the American School of Modern Music in 2019 as a performer with specialization in drums and voice. There, she studied with an acclaimed panel of professors including Raphael Pannier, Lou Tavano and Magic Malik. She earned her diploma from the school summa cum laude in 2022. While in her senior year, she got hired as a touring drummer for the “Phenix Circus”. Around those years, she also co-led a cypher/jam band in Paris named Jamasutra. Never forgetting her dream to study in the US, she got accepted with a full tuition scholarship to Berklee College of Music. She is currently residing in Boston where she is a songwriting major at the college. During school breaks, she plays and sings at private events in Paris and Morocco. Soon Lilou Chance will be settling in New York City to develop her artistry and discover a new scene.
